Will it start in gear with the clutch pulled in after the stall? My friend with a 17 Limited just like mine had this happen and the dealer replaced a switch in the clutch master cylinder to fix it. He was explaining to me that it stalled and would not start in gear after the stall. I told him mine stalled one time but I did not really notice if mine would start in gear or not because I never tried it. Curiousity got the best of me so I tried to start it in gear and it would not. His bike was parked right next to mine and his started and mine did not. I will send mine in to get the switch replaced. The dealer told him they have had this problem quite often. Worth checking into
The bike will start in gear before it stalls. Once it stalls I have to put it in neutral and cycle the bike off and on to start it.
If you are blipping your engine when you come to a stop then that could be a good reason why it doesn't stall. I can prevent my bike from stalling, I think, if I do that but, I shouldn't have to do that.
HD is going to send a tech to my dealership in maybe three weeks and they are going to look at the bike. In the meantime I'm either without a bike or I can choose to pick it up and ride it and hope it doesn't stall in a dangerous situation and possibly kill me at worse.
It's not a great situation because I can see this dragging on for 90 days when I should be out riding my brand new bike.
Did Harley Tech Support give your dealer lists of things to check before getting to the point of "nothing left to do but send out a tech"? My dealer says that they are being given lists of things to check, they check these things and them tech support gives them a new list of things to check. This has been going on all week.

They said they have a list of things to try. They are working through the list. HD Corporate is also sending what they call a RTL who is a trained tech. If the bike is already fixed at that point then they would like to see it and talk to me. If it's not fixed then he would be able to offer assistance.
UPDATE: My dealer ran through the list of items provided by Harley tech support with no luck. This list included checking that the wires to the injectors had not been switched front to back on the assembly line. This would have made perfect sense to me, but it turns out they were wired properly. The tech said that he's getting occasional CAN bus errors, but he has no way to know where these are coming from. He suspects an ECM problem for some reason. Anyway, tech support is closed today for the Easter weekend, so it will be Monday before they can get new direction from them. It's a beautiful 81 degree day here in Atlanta and my patience is wearing thin!

Sorry to hear you are still having issues. When did it start stalling? My bike was fine the first 2,000 miles then all of a sudden it stalled twice on one day and it's been that was ever since.
Picked up my bike from the dealer yesterday and they could not duplicate the concern. They did find a historic stored code for the throttle plate being stuck. They cleared the code and road tested. Advised that this could have caused a stall situation and that possibly a piece of dirt could have jammed the throttle plate. I doubt that something big enough got past the air filter to jam the throttle plate. Hoping that it won't happen again, I'm at 700 miles so far and will update in future.

At this point HD Corporate must know there are reports of this issue and it's real. I suspect they don't have a solution for it so they are stalling. My friend who works for a local HD dealership said someone came in today and reported the same issue I'm having. This is the first time he has had one of his customers have this issue. I suspect there are a fair number of these cases out there by now.

I did have this kind of problem, took it to the dealer and they told me i have air in my clutch system, who was causing the staling all the time.well problem was solve in one part, now i have an exessive idle up to 1500 rpm for few second and at a complet stop it goes down to 850.
To me it is weird to ride a bike and fell you have no decompression when you want to completly stop the bike
Maybe i should open an othere thread for this problem
Mine started stalling right around 3,275 miles, but thinking back, I've never been very satisfied with the smoothness of the idle once the bike was FULLY up to temp so maybe this is something that has been there all along, but got worse over time. I have always been very satisfied with how smooth the idle was once the start-up sequence was over and idle dropped to 850-875 rpm, but with the bike less than fully heat soaked.
