Get a set of the 13" rear shocks, and a touring seat and go from there...Plenty of folks around will trade for your 12" shocks...or you can get a new set from Jon at Horny toad HD for around $370...lots of folks dont like the 12"...they take 15 minutes to switch out..

seat is easy too...have the dealer switch out the seat real quick..If you were close to me Id let you borrow my Mustang..like you had on your old ride..crazy comfort...seriously..

WOW...dude, as much pondering as you did to buy the bike I would think you might give it a chance without having such a knee jerk reaction and willing to take a bath on the new ride. Your old softail is not even comparable to the new bike. At lease break the bike in and get some seat time before making such a drastic decision.

I understand buyer's remorse... I even understand missing your softtail when moving to a touring bike...

but, there's gotta be more to the problem than just the suspension. You're gonna take at least a thousand dollar hit in undoing the deal, just to fix a suspension issue that could be fixed with a thousand dollars in parts?

I read this thread a while back, and thought OP was out enjoying his bike. Now I read this today, and he's ready to unload it already? I hope you work it out whichever path you choose, but damnit man it's worth throwing a little cash at to get it perfect.

Yes, it is more that just the suspension. I debated long time if buying another new bike was foolish. The heart wanted but the brain was saying no. Major internal battle. None of the touring models felt "just right" to me but they had features that I wanted that were not available on non touring. Pluses and minuses to each of the rides I tried.

Was not planning to replace suspension. Got pissed when I realized there was no sweet spot for me adjusting the stock ones. I knew from test ride it was harsh but thought adjustment was all it needed. I remember my Heritage was a bit harsh in the beginning but with adjustment it was nice. Expected the same here. Starting looking at what it would cost me for progressives. Almost a grand more for shocks that should not be necessary on a 24k bike. That triggered ( love that saying) the buyers remorse, no doubt. Once that sets in, it pretty much needs to run its course. I saw an opportunity under the influence of the remorse to return bike and get rid of the feeling. Yes, I did over-react is seems (understatement?) BP going down now a little I think. Dealer called me today and said no to the return. Did not surprise me. I am quite embarrassed by all of this. This is not my style. Bought over 2 dozen vehicles in my life and this is first time this ever occurred. Dont wish that on anybody... not fun. I also screwed up and got the dark tint windshield. Mistake there as I cant see ****! lol Now I need to fix that. Comedy of errors on this ordeal. What a week!

I told myself I was not going to go nuts on upgrades. Seat, slip-ons, and maybe just a trinket here and there. Did 5 k worth of extra **** to heritage with no return % on trade. Did not want to travel that road again. The suspension just set me off for some reason.
