The only ones that have an idea are the ones in HD's warranty dept. Some just swapped the pump out on their own dime. It's a lot I'm sure and not just reported here. Three of the guys I ride with had theirs sump. 2017 and 2018. Bone stock with 3,000 miles, so the engine kit only bs doesn't hold up. It is acknowledged at the dealer I use also.
Back in the saddle again with a "new bike" smell...
New, complete 2019 motor arrived and installed on Friday. After a few tests run Saturday dealer has me good to go. I picked-up this morning. I'm told the 2019 includes a new oil-pump cover/plate that was not previously part of the design. I've got a few rides planned over this next week that should provide me with over 500 miles of opportunity to put it thorough it's paces... Will report back then - hoping that next "update" will be my last on this topic.
Happy to report 1,000 trouble-free miles on the new motor. I have been running it through an increasingly demanding series of rides over the past few weeks, including an all day, 2-up jaunt through the Catskills last weekend. Brought it in for a 1K service (on new motor / 2,300 on odometer) earlier this week and all checked-out clean - MoCo picked-up cost for the service and then some.
Hey Adam Sandoval sumped his Stage IV 2017 RGU with 3000 miles on it and new factory pump. It kills me because I would like to do a stage on my stock 2017 but hearing that makes me want to leave it stock for now. I know people say just got outside HD for kits or a well reputable machine shop, but I would be paranoid about MOCO not acknowledging the true cause so I would know how to prevent this.

I thought this was a thread about whether the 2018 bikes are sumping
So far all milwaukee 8s are having this problem reported. MOCO put out a service bulleting to put upgraded pump on SE kits but has not solved the issue apparently.
Just information to add. My RGU M8 2017 build date 8/16.. 3000 miles on the oil and just came back from a 1200 mile round trip that I was exceeding the speed limit on 90% of the trip. the bike has 19,000 miles on it. Mine is a stock 107 .
Did the test by the book. drained out 2 1/2 OZ and that took about 15-20 minutes of slow drip , drip to come out

I do not recall any bikes with some miles on them sumping. My 2018 RGS has a little over 21,000 on it. On my last cross country trip, I ran 90mph in 105 degree heat across the desert for over an hour. I dont think much about sumping on my bike anymore.

I just wanted to check it. Warranty is up soon and in about 2 weeks a Twin Classic sidecar will be bolted to it. So it seemed like a good idea just to check it .
