Default M8 Warranty Friendly Exhaust Systems

We need a thread listing all of our "warranty friendly" options. They could be complete systems (with cats) or the they could be slip ons (with cats), but they must be EPA approved / HD warranty friendly.

If you guys find any and post them I will move them up.

S&S makes the Eldorado system. Special feature - removable noise baffle!

Technically speaking... That may be a very short list...

I was at my local dealer the other day and they had an 18 Fat Bob with Rinehart slip ons on it on the floor. I inquired about it and the parts guy said it was EPA approved. He also said they have some for the touring bikes awaiting approval. He started it up and it did sound sweet.

The S&S Grand Nationals and the Rinehart 4.5" slip-ons FOR THE FAT BOB are EPA-approved and street legal. The Rineharts for any other Softail are not, as far as I know. They are only EPA-approved for use on the Fat Bob. I'm sure it has to do with where the catalyst is located; on the Fat Bob it's in the header pipe, but on the other Softails it's in the mufflers.

And, obviously any Screamin' Eagle exhausts offered by Harley should be EPA-compliant, so the Street Cannons or the High Flow Exhaust are EPA-compliant and 50-state street-legal.

Warranty friendly and EPA approved is a bit of a quandary for the M8’s. The term “oxymoron” would be one way to describe it.

Vance and Hines Eliminator 400's and I believe the Monster Rounds 4.5's are EPA approved. The eliminators have the EPA sheet on the web page, it will not show up in their site seach for epa exhaust. Guess they havent updated it yet.

Read your owners manual regarding warranty. This has come up many times. Anything you put on your bike not made or approved by HD “opens the door to HD possibly denying your warranty. It’s always a crap shoot but I expect very few get into issues with HD over slipon mufflers but they can!

The Eliminator 400 does indeed show a CARB certificate when you go to the product page (example). So do the Monster Rounds. It's confusing because the webpage clearly says " FOR CLOSED COURSE COMPETITION USE ONLY. NOT INTENDED FOR STREET USE " like pretty much all their products do. But, they also show a CARB certificate that shows these two products as 50-state legal.

one thing i noticed is the V&H monster rounds have a restrictive 'plug' for lack of better description in the core just like the OEM mufflers..the other ones on display at our dealership have a straight through core, same as the Street Canons..so obviously straight thru core doesn't equate to non spa approved..but still it appears the MR's are designed and intended to be compliant from what I can gather..they sound and perform great too..buddy replaced his Street Canons with them after 2 baffles rattled loose and he loves the MR's

How would you describe the sound of the MR’s compared to the cannons? Hard to put into words, but louder? Deeper? Or just sound great in general. (Sound is always subjective, I know, but you and I have both been reasonably happy with the cannons)
