Bought mine, did a quick 500 mile service and then directly road it 6000 miles in two weeks with no issues.
Road another 4K over the winter, 5K in the spring/summer and then another 7K in two weeks out to Yellowstone/Sturgis and back. No issues...
Once I had wee bit of trans oil transfer. Nothing, and I mean nothing has ever broken leaving me on the side of the road. In fact, no Harley ever has, and I've had 8.
The day after Christmas I had 1000 miles on my 2017 M8 and left for southern Florida without a single concern. Did 2k miles round trip and enjoyed every mile. My buddy was wishing he had an M8 by the time we got back.
As mentioned above you have a warranty, there are plenty of dealerships. Ride & Enjoy!
Hey bud, thought your bike was/is a 2018? Put the crack pipe down... LOL
OP, congratulations on one of the finest bikes on the road. Followed only by the Road Glide.
Just noticed your location. Had a GF that lives there a very long time ago.

Less than 1 percent of the M8's have had issues and some of the issues are operator induced.
Please post your verifiable source for this information or I'm callin it BS. And dealers don't qualify as I highly doubt they're privy to those kinds of statistics from the MOCO.
You've got a great bike and warranty. Go and enjoy it. The thing about forums is anything negative seems to sprout roots and grows exponentially while positive things get lost. I've got two trips planned for this summer on my 2017 RGU M8. One is a thousand mile trip to the Dragon and 4000 miles to the White and Adirondack Mountains. Hope to ride MT. Washington also. Check your fluid levels while on your trip and enjoy the ride.

Absolutely !!!! Go for it, no worries!
The HD engineers and manufacturers are top of the line.
Yep, it would suck to have a sumper 1000 miles from home. I'm sure you'll be fine.
This statement would be spot on if the bike in question was anything other than a Harley. The dealer network is very large. It is really hard to break down far away from a dealer. You will always be closer to a harley dealer than any other dealer.
