Id rather have a motor with so few issues, people couldn't string them together under one name like "sumpin". It was just $25k+.
Hell your a old biker we had sumping for years, that's the same as when it puked out the intake.

I can say I had a 2000 Dyna that had a cam bearing issue (warranty). The ‘05 FLTRI had a head temperature sensor go bad while on a trip (had a hell of a time finding one). The ‘09 had the radio go out (warranty), front tire cupped at about 5000 miles (warranty), rear brake switch (recall), frame stiffeners under fuel tank (recall), now there’s a recall for brake fluid change out. Now I have a ‘15 and a ‘17 that both transfer. I’ve figured out how to fix that so I’m good. Just because Peter hasn’t run into anybody in South Africa with a transfer problem doesn’t mean there’s no problem.

yeah, we've had some minor issues along the way..but we've never been broke down or stranded once, had a vacation ruined, etc. in the ~150,000 miles wife and i have put on our bikes over those 13 years.....great times, great fun and great memories..most important perhaps...returned home safe every time to ride another day....hard to complain at the end of the day

Take it from someone who loves this forum......don't let this forum scare you man. If it does, then spend less time on this forum!! Go to your local dealers, speak with other riders, speak to the service departments, etc. I say that because......I haven't met one person, in real life, with a M8 issue. I'm not saying there are zero issues, because clearly there are! I asked about the sumping issue at 3 service departments....and they responded ... "been on forums, huh" ....I'm sure that issue exists too, clearly!! My thing is....this forum represents such a very small amount of M8 owners. The actual % ...I don't know and don't care. Ride and enjoy yourself man!

I'm taking it in next Saturday to have a cb installed,I really like the bike it's my first touring bike also.Im short and Harley is the only one that makes a bike for sort people like me and after I rode it I fell in love I couldn't believe how good the bike fit me,so should I be worried? I'm also thinking of buying Vance and Hines monster rounds 4 1/2 they sound deep and throaty I don't won't nothing loud so I can hear my radio or cb.

Mine has a build date that probably will have an issue at some point. RIght now 1,200 miles and no issues. Love the new engine, knocking on wood right now. If it goes, it goes, I get a new engine. Hope it goes just before warranty expires and I get a 2019 engine. May have it figured out by then LMAO. Maybe a better engine too.
