M8 worries!
Also, they have to know what's causing the problem and how to fix it for the "great warranty" to be worth ****. In the case(s) of sumping and tranny oil transfer they DON'T.

Enjoy the ride, ignore the NaySayers.
Sorry to hear if you have an issue with your M8. We have 2 and few friends have 17 and 18 M8s in our group haven't had single major issue with the exception of few minor hand controls and couple led lights.

A hot oil check seems like the only sane way to check the oil on an M8 which is suspected of perhaps having sumping issues. Let it idle for two minutes, which should theoretically give it a chance to get all the oil back where it belongs.
Just thinking about it, it makes sense. Any flaws with this idea?

How many members are there here, and how many have reported sumping? Do the math, it's not a big percentage.
And as badcooky reported, HD AU has told their dealers that 1.2% of the M8's have reported sumping. AU is not a huge market, but Australians own more HDs per capita than Americans do, so the ratio could well be accurate for the US market too.
