Default Base Gasket

Can someone please tell me if the base gaskets need to be changed when a head is pulled and replaced on the new M-8's? Thanks

They arent gaskets, they're o-rings. I would imagine you could re-use depending on their condition, but why?

If you're just doing head work and not removing the cylinders I don't know why you'd change the Orings out. Is that what everyone does?

The M-8 went back to base gaskets. They are not O-rings in the new M-8 motor. Coated base gaskets.

Because you are taking the torque off the gaskets by removing the heads in all pre M-8 motors. I'm not sure if its the same with the M-8?

Back to base gaskets over the recessed o-ring?

I have done them without changing the base gaskets. No leaks, but you throw the dice and take your chances. Be sure the cylinders don't move when you pull the heads and if you will be rotating the engine, use some cut up pieces of pvc around the head bolts and secure them so the cylinders don't move. Good luck!
