Interesting. I just had to have mine replaced a couple of months ago under warranty. Hopefully I already have the new parts.

I had to stop by our dealer today and pick up some items the wife ordered. I walked back to service and asked about this and they were not only very aware and knowledgeable about it, but had a list of all bikes they had sold on the counter that were affected. He said let me see if you are on here. He looked at page one, type print with at least 40 names, addresses and vin numbers, went to page 2, then 3 and about that time I realized there were 12 pages! Yeah I was on the list on the very last page fourth from the bottom!

He told me to they would not see parts until around November 16th to 19th and just call them after that date and schedule an appointment.

In speaking with him he said they have had one new Road Glide recently have the clutch fail and the owner almost hit his garage door and barely kept the bike up. He said the bike was down for almost a month waiting for the part and the owner got pretty upset which I can certainly understand.

I like to be aware of these things. If the clutch should fail grab the brakes and hit the kill switch at the same time if stopping. Best to expect the unexpected and be prepared.

Ride safe.

I bought the new actuator a month or two back just because I saw it was a new part and was curious if it would affect clutch feel etc (no it didn't).

So.. now that I have it installed, in order to have the recall performed, I need to take it back off and re-install the old part. I'm going to do this just so I end up getting a spare free from Harley.

Hmm..I wonder if this happened to my 17 RGU. Came out to the garage one day and the clutch lever had zero resistance. Nothing on the ground. Dealer picked it up under warranty and found nothing wrong. They told my my clutch had worn and I needed to adjust my oberon clutch lever.

Give 'em another 8-10 years. They'll eventually figure out how to make a hydraulic clutch system that just works like it should with no problems.

It's the MoCo. It generally takes about that long for them to get some new-fangled idea to work.

More like the current crop of purchasing agents move on to another company and someone with a clue quits buying from the lowest bidder. Harley does not make all the little parts on the bike most that stuff is 3rd party suppliers from outside the US somewhere.

Maybe this is Harley's fix for the trans fluid transfer issue? Replace the fluid with juice from the clutch MC.

If anyone installed the AIM unit can you please reply with your thoughts? I am about to order one and want to ensure it works as advertised. Specifically does it reduce the effort?

Interesting. I talked with a service idiot at my dealer and he acted like he didn't know a thing other than there was a recall. Didn't know anything about when the parts would come out or even what bikes were impacted.

That's very unfortunate. Not all dealers are the same. I can name two within 40 miles of me that not have a clue either.

Bottom line this is for real and your dealer should have parts in 30 days or less.

Good luck
