I have a 2018 SG Special with the 107. How does one fine or determine the build date on the motor?
Just reading about the sump issues, and how they were supposedly corrected after a certain date and was attempting to do some research.
Thanks
Build date (month and year) are on the frame down tube. But, the latest fixes weren’t introduced until the 19’s rolled out and even then, they didn’t start until October

How do you know that about October? Just wondering how one could find out for sure if a 2019 has certain parts.
Just have faith.Buy it and ride. You would have to be extremely unlucky to pick up one that sumps,
if you do it can be fixed with the $27 end plate & seal. You really don't want to take advice from the Sump Singers.
You may not believe it but they seem to enjoy a perceived Infamy from the number of bikes they've managed to Sump
Dont invite them in to cause you trouble and confusion.
Just for the record. I have an early 2017 build. 24,000 on it and 3,000 of that with a sidecar on it. Bike is doing just fine. Don't let the internet get you to worked up educate your self . Checking for sump is really easy anyone can do it. Only takes a few minutes .

My 19 RG build date is August so if this is true I didnt get it. But Im loving my bike too much to worry about it. Do wonder why they wouldnt install a $27 part when u go in for service.

No manufacturer is going to spend money to install parts to fix a problem that hasn't happened (yet).
