M8 IATs
Looking for data from folks that monitor IAT with a power vision or other real time tuner. My IATs spike very high at times. For example:
Outside air temp (OAT) 94F
ET 285
IAT after short commute traffic and coming to a stop = 165F
It generally stays about 35-40 above OOT during normal riding no matter the temps. Just got back from 3000 mile trip and that was my observation.
Last week I did have a code and red engine light that IAT was “Shorted/off scale high” cycles the ignition switch on/off and cleared code and drive home. It hasn’t reset but wondering if it’s faulty.
Is anyone else seeing very high IATs?

I've seen some fairly high IAT's on my bike too. I think it's because at low speed or stopped it is sucking in a lot of hot air coming off the engine. I've never seen any trouble codes though. Even moving at speed the IAT is always a little elevated above ambient. Did you do some kind of modification that is causing it to pull even more air right off the engine than it did stock? Maybe the sensor is just bad. If you check it after the bike has sat overnight is the IAT at or near ambient?
After watching mine for a while under different circumstances I've decided the numbers look reasonable and I quit paying any attention to it.
