No need. If you haven't had any issues by now, you're not likely to. If you need to go into the cam chest for a cam change in the future, by all means upgrade.
My 2017 sumped and puked at 15,500 miles, so I have no love for the 10 lobe pump. I upgraded my 2018 Road Glide to the 8 Lobe when they came out. , no downside to upgrading.
Rule of thumb…”If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”
The downside to cracking open the cam chest to replace a perfectly good oil pump is you take the risk of not getting it back together properly starting a whole new diagnostic and repair job.
And I’m not convinced all the sumping issues are/were caused by the oil pump design simply because there are thousands of M8s out there with thousand and thousands of trouble-free riding miles.
For what it’s worth,
Bob
Make it worthwhile and do a cam while you're in there. I was always a little nervous about sumping when I had my 2017 so I get that you want to swap it out.
