Can you Guys give me any suggestions for good places to stay in Laconia. I don't know anything about it but would like to stay close to the main rally not to far from bars / music / people watching. Thanks
You didnt say how many in your party, but my advice is to try craigslist (keyword bike week, weirs beach etc) or call local Laconia/Meredith realtors for condo, mobile home rentals, etc.
Since you have never been, this is what you need to know.
Laconia Rally has almost no events or attractions in Laconia!!! The center of the rally is Weirs Beach. Do a search and you will find lots of cabins, motels, hotels etc. Look on Google Maps, Lakeside Avenue next to Endicott Rock Park is basically the center. If you stay walking distance to that you can walk to 80% of the bars and food. Then there is some stuff like the Broken Spoke that is about 2 miles up the hill, but they have reasonable shuttles to take you from Lakeside up to the Spoke.
Laconia is a great time with lots of good riding, but be prepared for rain, it is part of the rally.

Thanks! It will probably just be me and my wife. We're okay with rain, we don't drink and ride so like to be able to get a cab, shuttle, or walk.
I just book a room a little south near the Loudon NH Red Roof Inn $85.00 a night. Only staying 2 night to see the rally before riding east and down the coast.
If you can get a room at the NASWA it is very close and wildly popular but it may be all booked up. www.naswa.com
If you are looking to leave your bike somewhere and go drink then you may be hard pressed to do that anywhere except the NASWA. All other places you will need wheels to get to and from. 4 wheel vehicles are cut off from going over the bridge once it gets super busy so shuttles and taxis and not just readily available.
OP unless you care about the actual races, Loudon is a good little ride and I do not think you will get what you are looking for there.

NASWA is a great place, but I agree likely booked up or really expensive.
But I disagree that it is the only spot. There are hotels/motels all up and down Route 3 and Lakeside Avenue. Also lots of cabins for rent all on Route 3 going north into Weirs Beach, most of them being waterfront. Most are walking distance to the action, some a longer walk than others.
Loudon is by the track which is where HD will setup for demo rides etc. Nothing much down there but them and the track. 20 minute ride to the Weirs. The shuttles can get a little nuts on Friday and Saturday night, but if you are by Lakeside Ave, most of the action is still walking distance.
And since you are looking to see the inside of some of the bars, be warned the Police will be there in force. They pull in Local, State and even Campus Police for this week. I have seen guys sitting in traffic being asked by an officer on foot to pull over and have a lengthy conversation. Take it seriously, more $$$$ on a room closer to the action is way cheaper than lawyers. Good luck.
Like prev. comments. Tons of places to stay, but they fill up fast and the prices climb pretty high for the week. Awesome riding away from Weirs Beach. Head up further north for some great twisty mountain roads. bring rain gear and this year you might want snow tires. Been extremely cold and snowy, with no sign of it ending any time soon.
If the weather does turn, you will have a great time.
As others have said, definitely try to stay as close to Weirs Beach as you can. The traffic in and out of the rally area can get old, especially if you're there for the whole week. There is really great riding away from Weirs Beach though, so it's nice to head out of town and see the area.
