Whent to 3 different dealers and all said if I use any thing else in my Fatboy 08 it would damaged it.
Not hype....just complete BS and a total lie. You can use syn3 with no issue I would just recommend you use a 75w90 GL5 gear oil in the trans. I prefer synthetic 20w50 because it holds up to heat better. HD 360 will start oxidizing at 250*F and the synthetics like syn3 will go past 300*F which is an air cooled vtwin is important. Plus all the CVO bikes come with Syn3 20w50 from the factory. FWIW: I changed out the HD360 in my bike to Syn3 at 100 miles without issue. Now running Mobil1Vtwin and next year will go to Redline. The synthetic oils you can use safely are:
Those are some bad dealers and are talking total BS.
I would suggest that you ask them if you can use Amsoil, RedLIne, Mobile, or whatever you choice and if they say it would damage your motor get them to put it in writing, after all if it were true thay wouldnt have a problem doing that as its not bunreasonable. I would then send a copy of the letter with the dealers details to that oil company and just sit back and watch em squirm ..........................

Amsoil is very expensive here in the uk and I have never seen Mobile 1 V twin anywhere.
I will get my 5000 miles service over for the watrrenty and then think about doing my own as long as it does not effect the resale. not not having a service history.

Keep your own records and receipts for oil & filters. I would feel better about buying a bike from a guy who did his own service and kept records in a spiral notebook versus what a dealer would tell you. The guy who takes the time to record all of his service with mileage is usually the **** type who takes excellent care of his toys.
