BB.No8... the wife has actually fallen asleep on the back of my 84 FLh when I had the tour-pac on and we were on a western states road trip. The buddy seat on the 65 is a bit cramped with 2-up riding. I figure that once the sidecar is on she'll fall asleep in that.
It is no longer in the original finish. I had it rechromed by Sherm's in Sacramento CA. Went to mount it with trhe dual exhaust and the *** end of the pipe is too short (right muffler will not align with the left muffler). Can provide pics if needed. Fits like a glove with the OEM rear header pipe. I have an aftermarket one and while it is a nice fit it is still a bit loose (for my liking anyway). I have an early pipe (from the 70s) and it fits perfectly but it is clearly aftermarket even to the untrained eye.
The last piece of the puzzle (finally...only took a little over two years). The S-Y pipe for dual exhaust system is about 2 inches longer than the one for the single exhaust sytem. The pipe that is on there now is from Gas Box. It is decent and works well with aftermarket header pipes but is a loose fit on the rear OEM header pipe. Now I get to take the exhaust system apart again...hopefully one last time.
With this peice I have a complete OEM exhaust system. Currently I have cigar mufflers on each side. Once get the bike up and running I will change those out to the OEM fishtails (they are the "extra-quiet ones only recommended for dual exhuast systems).
