Wow what a transformation you did to your house! Love the back yard too, it looks cozy and great for entertaining,

So whats the deal with the right bag and a side car? Maybe I missed it but what was the solution from the factory, no right side bag?

From the factory sidecar manual 1936-1979, "If motorcycle is equipped with plastic saddlebags, the right saddlebag must be removed for sidecar service because the sidecar rear connection will strike and damage the saddlebag bottom. When sidecar is removed for solo motorcycle service, the saddlebag may be put on after removing sidecar rear connection from motorcycle".

I had to add a rear spacer on the muffler in order to clear the c onnection. What it looks like is the the action of the swingarm will contact the inside lower front portion of the right bag. When HD switched to the square swingarm (1973?), the also changed to lower rear mount so that it ran off the frame. CSaddlebag clearance then was no longer an issue/problem.

I was on a couple of sidecar forums and most have either removed the bag for sidecar use of modified the rear saddlegab bracket and raised it up to avoid contact. Don't want to raise it and definitely looks weird without the bag. At least I am not having to modify either set of bags I currently have. Modification shouldn't be that apparent once eveything is all together.

Good plan, I wouldn't even roll it out of the garage with one bag on it. Nice Evo too.

Been a while since I have posted on the Pan

Completed pics of the before/after seat pan and passenger backrest. Came with the back so eventually I will change the seat that is on there now.

Local guy that does mostly car interiors on old cars and been doing it his whole life (in his 40s now and starte out in his teen years). Spent a little over a year on and off getting this done. Took a while to find the correct material, getting the embossing done, cleaning up the seat pan, prepping the original foam to hold up correctly under the new cover.

He was able to recondition the original black trim around the base. I found OEM clips and an HD service bulletin regarding installation of the seat clips

I about choked on the finished price (not for the feint of heart). That said his work was absolutely the best. I understand that there are established businesses that could have done it cheaper. I just do nto think the completed product would have come out as nicely.

The seat looks great Panz, and I get what you're saying about not putting a price on quality.
My only question is, where does your wife sleep?
