Wheels on the ground (and almost but not quite ready)
Spent yesterday with Twisted Biker tweaking the shifting linkage so that it operates smoothly and has the needed play in it. Get it down the driveway, starts fine but did not want to go into first gear easily. Back up on Dan's stand and spent the rest of the day and this morning changing out the Primo Rivera clutch pack for the OEM clutch pack used on Shovel models (5 friction plates and 4 steel discs). And now it easily shifts into first gear. Dan will be back tomorrow so that we can fully test it out.
One thing I have learned about the Cannonball starter, it is designed to only start in neutral. If you pull in the clutch lever, even with the bike in neutral, it disengages the starter (it just spins freeley). Didn't know that but I wired in a neutral light to the handlebars, so that should make things a bit more easy for my niece.
Well I think this loads. Almost 5 miles on the bike now. Twizted was over today helping with the rear brakes and the carb. Been almost 25 years since I last rode a chop. Took a few miles to adjust. Still a couple things left. have to add some bumpers to the lower fork stops and adapt an OEM dash cover to aftermarket tanks.

Looks killer from way over her on the other Coast. If you and Dan get in a truck now with the bike, you could be to Oley PA for the AMCA National Meet by Thursday/Friday, easy!!!!!
Well, with some really fine tuning from Twizted the bike runs exactly as it should. Going to add some finished pics once the $hitty weather passes thru. Cold front and rain moved in at least for today.
Got the bumpers added to the lower fork stops and got the dash plate fitted properly. Did I mention I hate aftermarket tanks.
