Painted cylinders and let them cure. Ready to install rings. TI'm using Hastings. The top ring has no markings or bevel, just straight cut. I assume that means there is no orientation and goes on anyway I like. 2nd ring has the bevel on the inside and bevel side goes down
I'd forgotten the time it takes to prep a painted frame to get it ready to add parts back on. Cleaning surfaces for engine and transmission, removing paint from holes where bolts go and the like. Then there are the chromed nuts and bolts to check to make sure the threaded parts are clean. And of course trying to make sure you don't screw up the paint while reassembling everything.
And of course, I forgot that I did not have the needed base gaskets. Awaiting the arrival of the James set so that I can get the cylinders back on.
