Excessive Vibrating
Guys I'm out of options. I can't figure out why my 02 softail Standard carbureted (FXST), vibrates so much. I was wrapping it up with the clutch pulled on the interstate one night then it started. Ever since then the engine vibrates so much that the tank rattles loud against the frame on acceleration and deceleration and my highway pegs vibrate my feet off. She also shakes like a dyna at idle. My motor mounts "look" good but I'm no expert. Please help this fellow rider!

Sounds like you spun the balancer chain sprocket which is an interference press fit on the crankshaft; bad juju and a major repair if that is what happened. Another possible cause could be faulty motor mount; the softail motor is hard mounted and relies on the balancer system to reduce the transfer of motor vibration to the frame.
