Default Engine swaps

I have 2006 FLHPI police road king with 88in engine . Looking to upgrade to bigger engine . I could either get the big boar kit and be at 95, or I could buy a used 103 ofc Ebay and just swap engines. Question is ..... will it be exact bolt pattern match , and will the wiring be the same too? If not , what else will be needed ?

You need to buy a 99 to 06 except 06 dyna or any year softail. Most factory 103s are 2011-up motors and won't fit.

Or buy an aftermarket engine! The TC96 engines and later will not marry up to the earlier TC88 transmission, but a big S&S will.....

Bore to 98" ,cams and headwork if you can afford it and a good tune. You'll run circles around a stock or stage one 103s all day with out all the headaches of trying to bolt up a different drive train.

If the OP wants a 103" that will bolt up, he should be looking for a 103" motor from an early CVO model but the Beagle's suggestion makes the most sense.

How early did they start the 103" CVO models? I thought the TC88 year CVO bikes were only 95"

2004 according to my search! Seems several new things were introduced that year, such as the rubber mount Sporties.

IIRC, 2003 introduced the first 103" motor in the CVO Road King. CVO Electra Glide in '04 and '05; '06 the Ultra Classic and '07 the Ultra Classic and Road King.

As suggested go to 95" or 98" It will be very easy to seriously spank a 103 with some work you can beat a 110
