No state income tax bur property tax is kinda high. Otherwise a good place to live
I think that's always the same in any state that has no income tax. Same for states with no sales tax. They just get it through property tax, possession tax, or any other tax name they can come up with. In the end it all comes out the same. They still get there share.
I live on the coast of CA. If you can stomach our housing market the riding is bithchin. We have micro climates. I can go from 60* and foggy to 100* and sunny in 10 miles and very beautiful. Our area is considered one of the friendly places in the US. A College town so plenty of things happening all the time. One of the best micro brewerys in the us. Firestone Walker brewing. And some other brewerys too. Whiskey distileries are poping up too. Lots of concerts everywhere. Lots of festivals too. Next week is a tequila festival in Avila Beach. ZZ top is playing next month on the beach. Wine country as good as Napa Valley. Lots of cattle ranches and premier horse events. PCH runs right through here. 30 minutes from Hurst Castle. Half way between LA and SF with none of the stop and go traffic like the big city's. Lots of shooting ranges if you are into guns. 4 hours from Yosemite. 4 hours from skiing if your into that. A few lakes if you like water sports. Check out San Luis Obispo. Good luck
Sure, you can ride all year round in Florida except in the summer when it rains almost every damn day. And when it doesn't it can get so damn hot and humid that you wish it would rain. But then you can ride all winter except when it rains which is not every day but a lot of them. Personally, I've been considering New Zealand.

This is good info. I would think that it would be a good place to visit, then rent and then buy if it is suitable. I fear the OP has not read any of the suggestions.

Yea I hope we didn't waste our time posting but I love my area.
I just finished the Nov. 1 to Mar. 31 winter season in the midwest with 12K miles. So I live in Illinois to ride all year.
All the great places posters id'd good riding are right except with one point. You do not need to live there to rider there! I can be at the farthest reaches of the 48 states in 4 days at the most, enjoy the trip there, enjoy the area riding then enjoy the ride home. Have motorcycle will tour.
You do not have to live in Rapid City to ride the Black Hills or in Texas to ride the Three Sisters, the Big Bend area or the Hill Country. Besides I thought it was about the ride and not the destination.
