So tomorrow I am going to head into the deserts of South West Idaho and North Central Nevada. I am confident enough to think I have the FOB thingy sorted out.
What fun. I love the desert. It's basically a desert route all the way from just a bit south of here all the way to Southern California.
Maybe I will get a couple of "Burn Down Days".

It was a great ride down from Boise to Elko. There are three different parts to the highway. The first part is mostly flat and all desert. That is all the way to the Nevada border, then it chsnges to very twisty canyon roads for quite a while, then once you are at the reservoir it becomes much straighter again, but with big nice sweepers. There is one pass that you climb over and it is about 6,500 ft high. Most of the rest of the ride is about 5,000+ ft in elevation. The air is very clear and sweet first thing in the morning. I never took my jacket off until about an hour out of Elko. Let's look at some Picts....
