The weather cooperated today, so Friday Rideday was a go, and a success. I was in Clinton Iowa for a few minutes, but the KFC lobby was closed, due to staff shortages. I decided to head back into illinois and ride north. One hundred miles later I was somewhere in Wisconsin on County F....not sure what county though. Sometimes it's good not knowing where you are, or where you're going.
It was an awesome day. I fear my Night Rod day are slipping away, for this year anyway, as the days are getting shorter and sooner than I care to think, fall will be here, with too cold for Night Rod weather.
Nice! Hell I lost my blower motor in my Jeep so the commute home was with the windows down in 111°!! I'm waiting for the weather to break so I CAN ride. Another few weeks & should be good to go.
Yesterday's weather forecast was not good. They said we were going to get storms after noon sometime. Just before noon things looked good so I took the Night Rod out for a ride.
After about 45 minutes the clouds were moving in and the winds were picking up, and on top of that I was hungry, so I headed back home. I ended up grabbing lunch then watching the Little League World Series Championship game. It never did rain, and the winds calmed down, so I headed back out for another ride, but this time on the Limited.
In hindsight I wish I had stayed out a bit longer on the Limited, as the wife was gone to a play and ended up not being home for dinner anyway. Oh well, there's always next time.
Today's Friday Rideday was a bust. It was cloudy and rainy, from to time. I did manage to get both bikes washed, so that's a plus. Three more days off, so hopefully I'll get in a ride before Tuesday.
Very slow year for me Jeff Either the weather hasnt cooperated or I was just plain lazy havent even put on 1,500 miles this year
Sometimes stuff just gets in the way. These certainly are trying times, without even factoring in ones personal life. As long as each mile is a good mile, I guess the total mileage isn't all that important.
With that said, this past week has not treated me well, so the miles I got in today, were much needed, and much appreciated, but didn't quite do the job I was hoping for, but I loved each mile.
Too much on my mind, needed some therapy. Took a break in Seneca. A **** stop in Starved Rock State Park. No radio. No windshield. Just the wind, my thoughts, and some horsepower.
Usery Mountain Park Out early before it hits 100°!
Throttle by wire has been ok but still not trusting it 100%. Staying off the highways for a bit longer but throttle was perfectly fine today for 70 miles or so.
