I see that there is a three-day "motorcycles only" period in mid-June.
This may work (not sure) for US but I have to get feedback from the other folks who may want to come with me.
Personally, I'd like to do this trip in July then continue on up into NS then NL but I have to see who may be wanting to come along and if the wives want to fly up and join us.

I'm in the "thinking" stage of a trip to Nova Scotia that may also involve PEI and possibly Newfound Land this summer.
Looking at the map, I realize that while I have once been to New Hampshire I have not been to Mt. Washington.
I have some friends who may be interested in riding along with me to N.H. so I was hoping that there may be someone that can advise me as to the "must do" things and places to stay and eat.
In addition to the scenery, I want to take the Cog Railroad ride to the summit and there's an interesting boat tour I read about but there website won't be updated for this season for a couple of weeks.
Any and all suggestions and tips appreciated!
i don't remember the spelling Kangamangus highway maybe rt 112 not sure but it could be nh best road. Do not forget Cadalac mountain on the Maine coast
Pretty much this ^^^^--Late May is probably ok-----you might get nice warm days in early May, but 75 at the bottom is usually 38 at the top---it is a beautiful view on a clear day --the ride isn,t bad up or down just keep your distance from people in front of you ----If youre down at the base and you can,t see the top because of fog--we don,t go up.waste of time------Stay in North Conway area lots of motels ,shopping, restaurants and great riding----if you can fit into your itinerary put at least 2 days on for this area---sounds like an exciting trip
Will be in June or July but more like to be July.
Any recommendations for motels?
Did the trip a couple of years ago in late August, nice ride up except when i hit the gravel/dirt part. I went up early morning, one of the first ones up, issue was the water truck went first and i didn't see what he was doing. Hit the dirt, more like clay and he had watered it down. Will bike (SGS) was sliding and it was pure white knuckle for me till hit hard top. I would go again, but not the first one up, maybe about the 15th, and that road is busy by mid morning.
Will be in June or July but more like to be July.

Thanks
Do an easy googlemaps search of North Conway area motels--there are plenty to choose from[also many B&Bs] I stay at The Briarcliff, an older 60,s /70s style motel with a few upgrades, but has a convenient store and gas next door and a restaurant within walking distance-------affordable ,nothing special, but I,m riding most the time
I recommend staying in the area during the week [not weekends] very busy .especially in July, I,ve also stayed at Adventure Suites [themed rooms] can be expensive but fun---not sure what your taste are or price range is for motel/hotel stays---food, there is plenty ---Delaneys has great food and atmosphere and Moat MT has excellent food [and beer] and of course all your Chain Restaurants------- http://www.delaneys.com/http://www.moatmountain.com/http://thebriarcliffmotel.com/http://www.adventuresuites.com/

Thanks for the local info. I've found this is the BEST way of booking ahead and getting he best food and services.
As soon as I can get "input" from the folks that will be coming with me I'll do reservations and I trust that you're right about doing this through the week as opposed to weekends.
