When I create a ride in the HD ride planner, to a 2020 GTS HD radio, the route gets changed. I have search all over for setting to fix after I read this in the manual;
RIDE PLANNER AND THE H-D APP ARE FOR DOMESTIC VEHICLE USE ONLY. When using GPX files, after being imported onto the GTS radio unit via USB or Mobile App, the Alternate Routes needs to be set to OFF. This will make the GPX Route accurate to design on the Ride Planner website or H-D App.
I am assuming that the Alternate Routes needs to be turned off tho fix, but I do not know how to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Note that I am riding a 2020 Road glide limited with the new radio.
you need to add as many way points as possible. Also what i do is break the route up into 2 trip like start is to end at whatever place to eat at then back home is another route. You can make it all one ride and it will break the ride up up for every destination or stop you have in the route. Another is how you have the GPS setting are going to try to over ride your route every time. So if you make a nice scenic ride on ride planner but have the setting on the GPS set to fastest time shortest distance etc. the GPS will try to change your route to that setting. I have set up a few ride for my friend on his 2018 CVO anniversary. I added many way point and if worked out fine for him. And the kicker was i didn't even go on the trip with him and he used my routes i made. I found out when he got home it worked out fine. hope this helps
Thank you for your help. I do break down trips and use waypoints. I am looking specifically for he setting, either in ride planner or on the bike system to change the setting: "Turn off Alternate Routes." This is what the manual says could be the issue. I want to stop the GPS bike system from using another route and only use the one I planned in ride planner. This to me is the biggest flaw in the HD ride planner/app/bike gps system. You spend time planning a route and the bike GPS takes you on a whole different route. Very flawed system. I am ready to just mount my Garmin back on the bike.

Yeah got to play around in NAV to find it. It is also in the Boom Manual you can download but is a pain to find.
See screen shots below. 1. go to your NAV, then NAV menu, then NAV settings.
Main Screen go up and to the mag glass
Then you will get this screen go up to the top and use the wheel on the right.
You will get this screen
Scroll down until you find these settings.
Then change the settings.
You can either use the touch screen or the handlebar controls.
Thanks. I do have the manual and checked to try and find the setting. The quote in my origin post was directly from the manual. This why I was trying to find that setting.
