Road from Phoenix across arizona via route 66 last weekend. Milked out the trip as much as I could and put it on my blog at http://mrzip66.com/page/3/ if anyone is interested.
SOme bitchen old bridges and ghost towns. I try and hit that stretch up at least a couple times a year, theres always something new to see and I love the old roads...
i enjoyed both of you guys pics. i am comin to grand canyon end of june.will then head north and west to hurricane ut via 89a thru fredonia and colorado city. what can i expect for views and scenery that way.
thanks
Good job ... I'm heading back out the Mother Road around May 4 as I make my way back to OKC to see dear old Pop. I contacted the Wigwam in Holbrook tonight and just made reservations at the Blue Swallow (Tucumcari) ... this is going to be a Route 66 revised trip for me (for about the thirty-eleventh time since I was a kid). This time, though, I think I'm gonna stop a lot more for some good pictures as I make my way across ... maybe 4 days on the Route instead of the usual 2. Should be fun.

THe north rim of the grand canyon is a great ride. 8k feet, pine trees and then it drops down into fredonia pretty fast. Fredonia/colorado city Is ok. It's like heading across Kansas with some bluffs.

Sounds like fun. Every time I ride route 66 I always end up wishing I could milk out the trip more.
