Do a mapquest & see about this one. Go a little further east & go up to Dubois PA, then 255 to 555 to Benezette PA. Stop for a burger & beer at the Benezette Hotel, and maybe see some elk. The Benezette area has the largest population of free-roaming elk, east of CO. Cool to see them, but a great ride getting there also. If it's still real hot, they might stay in the woods in the middle of the day. Then you can work your way over to St Marys area & get 219 all the way to Bflo. Stop & take a break at Dubois Harley. Kind of a cool setup for a showroom. Kinda like walking down "Main St." Benezette Hotel has a website. See about a room for the night if you're there then. You'll probably be able to see some elk roaming around town early in the morning while you're having coffee on the deck. It ain't the Ritz, but it'll work! Also, Kinzua Bridge State Park is pretty cool to see, and it's pretty close to 219.
From Windsor, take I-75 South to M-39 (Southfield Rd, Exit 41) North/West. Then jump on I-94 West and take it all the way to Ypsilanti where you can get off of that big-rig ridden highway and take a nicer route, US-12. That is exit 181A, about 23 miles once you get on I-94. Don't bother getting onto US-12 any earlier as you'll just get stuck in town all day.
This route will get you out of the crappy Detroit traffic and onto a slower road. Just don't miss the jump from i75 to m39 to i94.
US-12 will take you a long way (even to Sturgis.....Sturgis, MI), so just decide for yourself where you'd like to jum p on the tollroad. Hope this helps!
From Pittsburgh, go north and ride Rt 6 into Wellsboro, PA - stop at Colten Park to see the PA Grand Canyon - we did that two weeks ago (we rode from Erie to Wellsboro to Niagara Falls in one day)
Nice pics, Harley Guy! Looks real familiar to me! Was gonna suggest this to you rgjujitsu (since I'm from Wellsboro) but thought it might be further east than you wanted to go. Doesn't take me a whole lot longer than 2 hrs to get home from Benezette.
