Central Crocery 923 Decatur St. for the best muffuletta you'll ever eat. Just try to avoid going at prime meal times because the lines tend to stretch out the door and down the side walk.
Cafe Du Monde for beignets and coffee is a must for breakfast. Open 24/7, busy 24/7. I prefer to hit the take out window as it sometimes goes quicker.
I'm very wary of where I eat in the Quarter. A lot of places are tourist traps. Although it is hard to screw up some fried seafood, sometimes you just never know what you're really eating. I prefer authentic Louisiana gulf seafood, and a lot of places cheap out and serve imported foreign garbage. Hopefully some NO natives will chime in here and give you some good recommendations. Acme Oyster or Felix's are usually where we grab some seafood when we are in town. They are right across the street from each other on Bienville.

+1 on the central grocery, one of the must have samich. Mouth is watering just thinking about it.
I was at the local Harley dealer waiting for a fellow rider on Saturday when a couple, with brand new bikes, were leaving on a road trip. I took a couple of pics of them with their new bikes for them. They said they were going to Florida and then New Orleans to get something to eat. They were in their late 30s to early 40s and were looking for adventure I guess..Real nice folks and off they went.
Go to the Hilton hotel. They have a huge and extra great Oyster restaurant in the lobby. Grilled oysters are superbe. Their pasta with oysters and tequilla is maybe the best dish in the world, if you like seafood pasta. I really didn't like oysters until them. I liked the place better than the French Quarter places. Have fun.
JAck Dempsy outside the quarter...cheap, but great...i's a local place. Hogs breath saloon in the quarter. Mother's for breakfast. court of two sisters. Chez Pauls. Lots of good food there.
Can't remember the address or the exact location, but do yourself a huge favor and find Deanie's..........then order the BBQ Shrimp.....These aren't the grilled kind...they are cooked in a buttery garlic sauce that will have you hooked forever.
