You can easily make Skyline in one day if you don't stop at too many turnouts. I would give myself three / maybe four days on the parkway. Again, depends on your riding style any how many places that you visit along the way and believe me there are plenty of worthy places to see, such as Mabry Mills, The Music Center, Clingmans Dome, Grandfather Mountain, Cone Mansion and many, many others. As for gas stops, they are NOT markedtherefore I would recommend a GPS to assist in that department. There are plenty of other great roads in the area. When you get near Maggie Valley, I would urge you to stop at Wheels Through Time Museum. Main thing, take your time and enjoy.

Impossible to really give a time frame.Skyline is 35 mph and even that depends on traffic.BRP is 45 mph for the most part except for the occasional congested areas where it drops to 35. Bear in mind that long stretches of both roads have a scenic overlook about every 1/2 mile or so .There are a limited number of places to get gas on the parkway mostly park run snack bar/store type things and regular gas stations are usually a short hop off the mountain. As mentioned ,there is a ton to see along the parkway if you are up for a short hike.I'd definately add Linnville Falls,Water rock, Mount Mitchell, and Blowing Rock to the list along with a riding the Diamondback(226A) from Little Switzerland and maybe a stop at the Biltmore estate in Ashevile. Decide what you want to do then get a park map (free everywhere) .They list the attractions overlooks, and exits along with mileposts and are a great help
