Default Atlanta to Pittsburgh
Hi,

Need a good route from ATL to Pittsburgh. Going to do the full Blue Ridge Parkway on the return trip, but would love some ideas going up. Not a superslab fan, but can if need be...

Can't help you out with much here, except to say that the few times I was on interstate 77 in WV (in the car), I thought it would be a great ride on the bike. Hilly & scenic. Can take 77 to 79 to Pgh. 79 will be busy through Washington PA, up to Pgh.

Have caught Hwy#219 in Bluefield WV before and it goes through some very scenic country. #219 will take you about 70 miles SE of Pittsburg. It passes very close to the United Flight #93 Memorial which is worth visiting.

Also if you have never been there, the New River Gorge/Bridge in WV is also worth seeing.

77 to 81. 33 west @ harrisonburg up over Shenandoah Mountain to 28 then 28 to seneca rocks and 55 to petersburg then 42 up over mount storm to 50 west. 50 west to 79 to pittsburgh.

Could come up threw cherokee then pick up some time up 81 north

I've got 2-3 days going up. Figured on stopping in southern W VA for the night. Have to be at a customer on Monday morning, leaving no later than Sat. morning before. Coming back I have 4 days. Thx for the tips on the Memorial and the bridge. Will definitely check them out, time permitting.

Welcome. I have done the routes I gave you. Harrisonburg has lots of hotels. 33 west is the bomb. Very nice
