Wow!!! Did amf buy Harley again and begin "negotiations" with the uaw?
With all these issues w/the 110's AND the 96's, it sounds like they have serious quality control issues.
It's 1974 all over again !!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH !!!!!!!!!!!!
Yea no ****. I love the bike I just want to ride it more than it is in the shop! This is the number for Harley Davidson 1-414-343-4056 direct toMilwaukee (Quality and Customer Service) this number will also get your Dealer in deep **** bye the way, but the Dealers not the problem its theQuality control I feelon thisparticular bikes motor!
I've got a SERK3 with heat issues. I can't even stop for 5 minutes in traffic without the engine light coming on. I've added a FatCat & Auto Tuner and still no difference.
When I was in Sturgis, I couldn't even make it through town! Why is it that we don't hear about overheating on Victory, Big Dog, Iron Horse, and other's?
I dont remember posting it on this page but I raised my tank two inches now my ride stays 20 degrees cooler then the wifes 07 fatboy. I also have an oil cooler, but it made little if any difference.
Just thought I'd lay in my "two-bits." My scoot is not the 110, it's a Stage III 95 cu. inch. From what I understand, this engine was one of the big ones back in '03. If you look under the category of "engines" and "softails,"--ENGINE TROUBLES, ANY THOUGHTS? (2/07-3/07)--you'll read about my blight purchasing it new from the dealership.
I've learned a hard lesson! EVERYTIME YOU TAKE IN YOUR BIKE FOR REPAIRS "GET THE RECEIPTS." I've just received the "Judgement" from Small Claims and unfortunately I lost, even though I brought in a witness from the alternate HDdealership stating there was a installation error madeinstalling the performance parts.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS, GET A COPY OF THE SERVICE RECORDS INDICATING "EXACTLY" WHY THE BIKEWENT INTO THEREPAIR SHOP.
Yea and there clothing is not much better! I purchased the FXRG real nice jacket. I have already sent it back to Harley twice due to zipper malfunction (it broke ) Then I bought A nice screamin eagle jacket you know one of those cool jackets everyone asks you about that molds in your closet thats cool as cool as hell buttttttt the F+ckin ZIPPER broke when I zipped it up of course I had already left the Stealer! W.T.F. I am beginning to wonder if everything from Harley is a piece of ****! F^ck it ! Sorry for the potty mouth.

You are having some terrible luck. I bought the really cool Screamin Eagle leather jacket and think it is great. Some of the best venting that I have ever had in a jacket.
I bought a FXRG leather last fall and wore it through 3 seasons until it warmed up this spring, I really liked the jacket and had no complaints. Through the warm months I wore a Fox Creek perforated jacket that I also really liked. The other day it was a tad chilly so I dug the FXRG out and the first thing I noticed was what a POS little plastic/nylon zipper was on it, the Fox Creek has nice big brass zippers and was half the price of the HD jacket.

Man I feel for you guys, from someone that has gone thru the C/S hotline bs,I can relate.Dail 0 first off it seems to help once call goes thru.Once someone finally answers the horn is when things heat up.Why play dumb with these owners???The head gasket issue needs resolved now before the 08 crowd joins in.The lower ends while I agree may read differently when installed, shouldnt be 4 timesa .003" spec and called good enough. These are 35000$ bikes and owners you are about to loose. This effect will travel to us 96 peons and so on.The head gasket deal will eventually be remedied, until then frequent dealer visits are youre only answer along with a bucket of soapy water.
I bought a 2007 DYNA FXD 96 Cu In. After 1000 miles I had the 110 SE kit installed.
After about 700-1000 miles The front and rear jugs started leaking at the bottom. Dealer replaced O rings and cemented it. I have 3800 on it now with no leaks. I expect it to start leaking again.
The leaks don't bother me as much as the crank run out that is showing up on these 110's.
It can cause the oil pump to go south and there are two documented cases where the motor has siezed up while riding. Fortunatly neither rider was killed or injured. I was really nervous when I ran at the drags last week. I was wondering if the motor was going to lock up at 105 mph.
I am Hoping Harley does a recall on the motor with a new design.
