Always had British bikes in the early days they were not reliable then Switched to jap bikes until 90s when I got out of biking to raise a family. In 2005 got back into biking and bought a 2004 Sportster custom 1200 fell in love with it. Then last summer at 69yrs. old bought a CVO Softail Deluxe wow what a awesome bike. Reason I never bought a Harley as the earlier ones were so bad and unreliable but the Harleys are no longer a joke.

At 46K miles on the 103 I would have the nylon shoes (or whatever they are called) checked out for both the timing chain and the primary auto chain tensioner.

The 103 stroker motor on the 2003 cvo was good. If maintained decently, you should be good. a 15 year old bike can have lots of minor age related issues. If the dealer who sold it to you serviced it, go talk to the tech who worked on it and pick his brain. Any decent Harley shop should let you do that.
