I'm trying to find someone who woud be kind enough to trace the screamin eagle inset on the dash (I bought a SE dash for my RKC because I could not look down to see the lights, etc since i have a plate in my neck) I have to have an insert made cause HD won't sell me the SE plate, which I understand. But I now have an 08 bike with an SE dash and no insert.... i know this is a pain but please consider it. You can check my other posts for more info...
Hi, thanks for the response. I have an 08 RoadKing Classic. I've changed the bars to the fat bars to help me get a little more pull back. I have also had 5 back surgeries. I have a plate in my neck that does not allow me to look down. The indicator lights on the classic are on the tank and I can't see them. My dealer suggested we change out the dash to SE dash and mount the indicator lights to the top of the handle bar cover as in the SE. He ordered all the parts but cannot get the dash insert because it is protected. I understand that and would not want to badge my bike as a SE RoadKing when it is not. Now I have to have a plate made up so I can either have one made of billet or leather or smoked plastic to finish the build on the bike. You can get it to me in the mail if it suits you and I will pay all costs associated with the tracing and mailing it. I'm told the best way to get it is to remove the plate and simply trace it. It may be held on by two faced tape. I'll pay for you to replace that too. I think it is more a pain than anything else, but simple to do if you have the insert. it is the pebble finished or custom hammered insert that says Sreamin Eagle Road King. I contacted HD and their supplier who makes the dash inserts and there are not aftermarket options available. I appreciate any help you can be. I'll send you a pic just in case I've been confusing if you send me your email. Or, perhaps you understand my long winded explanation. Beautiful Bike by the way!!! Enjoy and safe riding, J
I'm not sure how to do it other ways, but some say you could trace it and turn it into a doc scanning it and email it. If it were me, that would require me asking my daughter to do it. If you can do it and would prefer to post it, I'm at Jay C. Burgman 7049 Stump Road, Pipersville, PA 18947.
