I was detailing my bike when I noticed that the cloth I was using started to snag on something when I was cleaning the wheels. After a closer look, I realized that the chrome was bubbling and chipping in the first groove closest to the tire.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if Harley covered it? My bike only has 6400 miles on it and is only 1 1/2 years old-this just should not happen!! A dealer took some pictures and is going to contact Harley to see if they will replace them. If anyone has any input on this-it would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Joe
(I do live in Milwaukee, but did not drive the bike more than 3 times this winter-and the roads were not wet or salt covered....not that this should matter--more and more cars have chrome wheels on them and they are driven through the whole winter and I bet they don't bubble after a year and a half)
I had the same problem on my screamin eagle v-rod wheels. It seems to be very comon on those wheels. The dealer said that they would not cover it because it was enviromental damage, but I know others that had the same problem and theirs were covered. I guess it depends on the dealer.
