What do you think of the wheels being 3/4" off-center to the right? It's really noticeable on the Springer ('06 and '07 models). From my seat of the pants there is no functional problem, but it does look a little funky when viewed straight on from the front. Even the seat is not centered on the rear fender.
That blue is killer! I did the same trick on my mufflers, except I used a 1/4" rod and put about six holes each in the plug, wallowed out the catalytic section and took off the insulation wrap. The result is pretty good, with a fairly quiet cruise, but plenty of sound when I nail it. I did put in the new computer map that comes with the SERT (for free flowing exhaust 110 cu. in version).
I have made a set of new baffles out of exuast pipe i had laying around from my old hotrod and now its just staight threw pipe with no obstruction and pipe on inside diameter of a smaller dia. to give it some back pressure, and holly crap can people hear me now, my neighbors hate me at 5:00 in the a.m. warmin up for work!!!!! ha. ha. ha.
Note: The pipes in that pic. still have the stock baffles just imagin those with nothing in the center. P.S. I want to thank every one who helped me figure out how post a pic. of the bike.
I had the same problem u were having..I waned Hooker Troublemaker 2.5" drags with scallop cut...but they don't make them yet. Settled for the V&H's and am very pleased.

Just bought me a new SE Springer to replace my 05 FXSTSI. I just could'nt take it anymore. Fat 200 mm tire, 6 speeds, 110 engine.....she's Bad!
Love the bike, but would like it to sound louder. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions.
Here are a couple of choices currently for Slip-Ons that I have found or that one Dealer recommended to me.
First, Harley Screaming Eagle Street Performance Slip-Ons.
Straight out of the box the sound like the SE II's
The baffles are easily removed just like the ones in the stock pipes, and the hole sizes can be easily altered to increase sound and flow just like on older non-catalytic converter SE Pipes. Supposedly the have no catalytic converter.
There is no stock number listed for the '07 FXSTSSE - someone will have to post here which one fits - the ones for the FatBoy or the ones for the Deluxe (both come in slash out or slash down).
MSRP-$299.95.
Second, Rush Mufflers makes a good Slip-On replacement with your choice of 3 different Baffle sizes 1.75", 2", and 2.25". You can go from not-so-loud to pretty LOUD I am told by just swapping around the baffles. One set of Baffles comes with the pipes (your choice of size) and you can order the other 2 sizes seperately.
Once again, there is no stock number for the '07 FXSTSSE - just like the SE pipes, let us know if it is the ones for the FatBoy or the ones for the Deluxe that fit.
Cost-$249.99 from various places - can be bought direct off the internet from a number of vendors.
For now, I have removed the fiberglass blanket and drilled about 10 holes in the upper section and about 30 holes in the lower section of the stock baffle - all the way through both tubes. I haven't noticed much difference in sound, but it seems to flow a lot more air.
