Understanding engine codes and what CI the engine is...
Hello all, I recently purchased a 2000 Road King that was owned by a friend and former partner/co-worker at Medic...been friends for 18+ years, sadly he died in January of cancer. His wife finally decided to sell his bike and I bought it, so here's the details. The bike is a 2000 Road King and back in 2008/09 the engine was replaced with a Screamin Eagle engine...later in 2009 the engine was overhauled with the big bore kit:
Engine code: fdvy645028
New cam: SE 211 (PN: 25152-00)
New pistons: HTCC 1550 + .010 (PN: 22441-00A)
Crank set (PN: 24597-99C)
I'm trying to figure what the engine is from that engine code...also, given the upgrades any ideas on what the CI is on the engine?
First off, sorry for the lost of your close friend.
If I were going to take a shot in the dark, I would say that you have a built 95". (around 1500 cc give or take) i think in stock motor was a 88" back then.
By looking at your posted pictures, you have some updated Screaming Eagle Heads of some type.
To really get a true reading on the work done, may I suggest finding out from your dear friends spouse and checking to see if he had the work done at the local dealer or local Indy.
On a good note, the Harley Motors from around 1999-2002 were built better then most motors today. although every year had it's own faults.
