I just picked up a 14 CVO RK I traded a 02 custom express w/100 inch rev tech. I love the way this RK rides but the valve train is so noisy and it is such a slug compared to the custom I had. One reason I bought the CVO was the 110 inch motor. Maybe I expected too much. I love the Sherwood Green I think it is the best looking bike Harley put out in 14. But I can already see it needs something to pep it up a little.
I purchased the 2014 CVO RK Tribal Orange and I wanted a little more out of the 110, but didn't want to spend a ton of money. I knew I was going to put a different exhaust on and needed to get the fuel and air mixture right. I put on the Vance and Hines power header with Rinehart 4 inch mufflers. I put a Thundermax on and liked the response the bike had, but couldn't get it to smooth out running at low speed. The shop took the Thundermax back and I purchased a SERT and had the bike Dyno tuned. It runs great.
I did put the lower fairing on with speakers and new lids with speakers. They look and sound great.
All in all I am very pleased with the 2014 CVO RK. I will be replacing the stock seat with a Mustang with backrest. I had that seat on other bikes and I could ride for hours without any problems.

Nice looking bike! I was wondering if you could order the lowers and new lids to fit...you answered one of my questions. Do you notice a lot of difference with the lowers while riding wind wise?

Beautiful bike, where did you get the color matched headlight bezel?
Question for those who are running seats other than stock. Did you have to remove the decorative strips under the stock pillion for fitment? If so, how did you remove?
Thanks

I'm using the Corbin Solo. According to Corbin it fits with out having to remove the strips and it did.
Hi. I'm reviving this old thread. I have a 2015 RK and thinking about swapping handlebars to the CVO bars. I read the specs and the bars are about 2in lower. I have my bars moved to the lowest position where it doesn't hit the tank. My bars give me shoulder pain due to the height and angle of the stock bars. Would this be an improvement?
Yep exactly. If you are one of the few that buy a bike, CVO or non CVO, and the bike fits you perfectly (bars, seat, etc.) and the lean factory map and cat in the pipe and quiet slip ons don't bother you then congrats. No matter what bike I buy I will always change those things mentioned and few more like lights (safety). To each his own. I love my bike and there wasn't a 2014 that remotely compared to it in my eye.
Thought that I would post here after reading all of the bad reviews of the OEM 2014 CVO seat and the wind splitter windshield...recently picked up a 2014 CVO Road King and am missing both but would like to have them. Please let me know if you are interested in selling either or both items!
