2014 C. V. O. Road king
As to the bike otherwise it is just brilliant. Steering and handling is so light that it feels much smaller than it is. Installed navigation and sissy+rack and got also the "touring luggage system" for my stuff. However, strangely rider backrest could not be installed even though the official site says it fits. Well, it didn't. Alternatively official dealer did not know what they were doing. Well, I haven't had backrest so I don't know what I might be missing and besides the bigger bag worked as a backrest anyways so no problem there.

C v o road king at a n. y. Dealer.
And let me say that I was NOT impressed.
First ,the seat pushes you forward and was
Putting pressure on my Tail bone.
Second, the motor ( 110 ) has lots more
Vibration and just felt odd to ride.
Third, the new clutch they brag about was
Much harder to engage then my Standard
One on my 2013 road king.
And lastly the ride was stiff and the exhaust
Sounds tinny.
I Definitely was not impressed.

* what it's NOT going to do is change the ride from a Hard-Tail like ride to a super squishy cruiser. The bike DOES have 18" and 19" wheels, so you'll still 'feel' the road.
* what it DID do is take that edge off. You know, when you see that bump in the road or a badly paved road and you cringe and tighten up thinking 'oh this one is going to hurt'. THAT is what is mostly gone now, which is EXACTLY what i wanted.
The stock bike comes with lowered rears (12" eye-to-eye). The 944's work perfectly. Even though they are 13" they're designed to immediately compress the first inch when the bike is just sitting. So.....it doesn't change the ride height. I went with the 'Standard' vs. Heavy Duty. Called Progressive and they said for 250lbs. or less and mostly solo riding, Standard is good. (I'm 215)
A bit pricy for that change. Worth it in my book because i can handle it.

New to the forum, though a HD owner of several bikes for 15 years now. Congrats to all who purchased the '14 CVO RK. I've had my Tribal Orange for 8+ Months now, though only about 1500 miles. Previous I had an '07 CVO RK, then a 11 CVO RG Ultra. (Hooked on CVO's.....if you couldn't tell)
I'll post some pix soon. FYI - mods i've made/will make.
Seat - Stock is horrible for anything over an hour. Starting with a Sundowner as i've used in the past. Unfortunately the NEW (14) Sundowner seems to be much higher. I'll try and live with that as i'm 6'0" anyway. I absolutely need a Driver Backrest so i went that route. I've hear Mustang's are great. May try that is Sundowner doesn't work. (As in the past I keep 2 sets of seats, sissy bars, luggage and windshield and swap out for short vs. long rides. Cheaper than having 2 bikes)
Ride seems to be a bit harsher than my past bikes. Seat? Wheels? Suspension? Starting with the seat mentioned above. Already big improvement. I noticed the '14s have a 19" front and my past CVO's had 18's. hmmmm. Last effort would be to swap out the 12" rear Harley shocks for Progressive 944's. Heard good things."
I have a 2014 CVO Road King (Tribal Orange) and just replaced the stock seat with a Le Pera "Daytona Sport". I put it on Saturday night and rode it just shy of 200 miles on Sunday. For me it's WAY more comfortable than the stock seat which was like a big flat bench. (I'm a 5'7" woman who weighs 120.) The Daytona Sport is narrower, particularly towards the back, has a deep dish/bucket which provides some support, and it comes with a removable backrest which can be adjusted for height as well as angle. I won't ever ride two up but wanted the "pillion" to be able to put a bag on behind the backrest if I need more luggage space than the nice big bags on the RK provide. I think the style of this particular Le Pera looks great on the CVO King as the lines of the seat go well with the lines of the bike. I also got a custom stitch on the rider area and Le Pera sent me thread samples so I could color match the thread to the orange on my bike. This is my third Le Pera seat and I have been very happy with the seats and with Le Pera's service. I'll get some good photos in the near future and post them if anyone is interested in seeing the seat on my bike. And if anyone is interested in buying my stock seat and pillion, I'd be more than happy to sell them! They only have about 800 miles on them.
