I like the way the stock seat feels as far as riding position...it's about 1/2" lower and 1/2" back compared to my Mustang Vintage.

But long-distance? Meh, not that great.
By about 45 minutes my butt is hurting. With the Mustang I can ride all day, but I'd be stopping at least once an hour to get up and walk around a bit with the stock seat.

If I knew I'd be no more than an hour at a time in the saddle, then stock seat is fine. But since you some times never know, I doubt I'll bother and just stick with the Mustang Vintage.

Love the looks of the Road King just hoping its comfortable for long rides.
Seat comfort is really up to you and the whole ergomonics of the bike. The stock 2010 Road King didn't agree with me much at all. Heritage bars helped a lot. Was planning on swapping the seat as well but traded it for the CVO Road Glide Ultra in 2011. I did swap the seat on that one for a sundowner seat since the big comfy couch that came on it was just too high for my tastes. I still have the sundowner seat but haven't tried it on the CVO Road King yet (not even positive it fits...).

The day I picked up the new Road King I road it for about 4 or 5 hours, almost 200 miles of mostly back roads and had no problem with the seat (and it looks really great on the CVO). The bars on the other hand...I'm still trying to decide what to do to get them a bit higher. A fews guys here have already swapped the bars out - takes me a bit longer to hem and haw over which style, etc...to go with. By the way, Gruamach, those Yaffe bars do look real nice. Now I have to add them to my list of options too, dammit.

I had the 08 SE dyna and loved but have no regrets in the trade for my 14 CVO RK.

Just picked up my 14 CVO RK. Love the aztec orange. First off I 'm not a rookie. This is number four in our stable of four.1 trike 1 SG 1 Fld 1Cvo rk. Love the stiffer front forks, the lower wider seat, windshield is the perfect height for me at 6 feet even. As for the tinny sound every new bikethat has been made in the last 15 years has needed pipes. I'll add a set of jackpot 4 inches like my SG has and never look back.

Finally took a few hours to put some miles on the RK before work yesterday. Still in love with the CFO. This is the lightest handling Harley that I've ever ridden and doesn't have all the clutter that my SG has up front. This bike reminds me of my old 01 RK classic. No lowers, no stereo, just the road and the wind on a good looking great handling bike. Go ahead and trade your dyna on the RK. You won't regret it.

Don't have a Dyna to trade but I am probably going to sell the Streetglide in the spring and get the CVO King. I am tired of the batwing. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

Sometimes I think it looks really cool and other times I think it looks akin to rice. Anyway, it's my third batwing bike and my last. Road King gives you the touring frame in a traditional motorcycle package. The CVO is the creme de la creme. I prefer the 14 over the 13 but both years are awesome!

I bought my first RK in 2000. I stayed true until 2012 and tried a RG. For all the reasons you mentioned I disliked the RG. I traded it for a CVO RK in 13. I ordered a memphis shades detatch fairing and a Paul Yaffee detatch tour pak. I now have in my mind the ultimate set up. I can tour with all the protection and comfort or strip down and street cruise, all on the same bike.

I love the tunes on my 2013, that is one thing I just couldnt ever give up.

Traded the Ultra limited in on RK CVO and I love the bike and less weight. I can tell you I only have one complaint so far and that is the windshield. The problems I see with it so far.
It vibrates pretty bad because of lack of support through the middle because of the vent. I didn't notice any difference with the head buffeting whether the vent was open or closed just the vibration on the windshield.

It doesn't lock and can be removed by anyone (that's willing to risk a beating that is...) to take it.

I added the handlebar mount audio boom speakers because I missed the music and they are okay.

I'm going to try a standard version of the RK windshield just to see how that works out and to see if I like it more.

Sorry not sure why photo's are rotated????
