Hey there,
I'm looking for a set of drag pipes for my FLH. Finally decided I would order some Cycle Shack pipes because they seemed to be reasonably priced, and they fit a kicker and stock crash bars and bags... but of course J&P are out of stock. And Cycle Shack won't sell directly to a consumer. Any ideas on where else to look? (Also checked ebay with the part number [phd-103]; no go.) Would rather buy something made here in the states, but would these be worth trying?http://m.ebay.com/itm/121664487442?nav=SEARCH
Just looking for some ideas and opinions. Thank you, -Danny
P.S., I'm also keeping my eye open at swap meets, but there aren't too many swap meets that I'm aware of in Minnesota)
the recommendation is going to be - don't use drag pipes.
A lot of people find the bike won't run very well with them.
I'm still fighting a plug fouling situation that might end up being related to open exhaust.

Best way to Know that the pipes are responsible for your plug situation is to change them out.
My Kick Only FX will carry A Real Exhaust thanks...
I have Paughco duals with fishtail extensions. Would adding baffles help?
I should be able to slip some right in, and the fishtail tips wouldn't allow them to come out.

Okay ... I'll bite. What's a "real exhaust". I just wanted to be sure that I was in "compliance" My Shovel utilizes Python Stagered Duals with "anti reversion technology" which was the hot ticket when I built it many years ago :>)

LOL...I didn't know Python had Anti-reversion tech.
If that means torque cones....knock 'em out and you'll have real exhaust.
I like O.E Head pipes with S.E muffs or Cycle Shack muffs...
Cycle shack makes a good pipe...the old Paucho's were good also....
While some folks thing "nothing sounds like a Shovel with drags" ..I find that Nothing Sounds like an Iron H-D [Sporty or Knuck] with drags...
Evo's..? Not so much, and Twinkies???? ***etaboutit...!!!
Nothing makes any of 'em run better than a Tuned exhaust designed for the Job at hand...so ya see there is a Place for Drag pipes....Guess where???
Thank you for a real answer, I appreciate it. Trust me, I know the pros and cons of drag pipes. I actually live about 4 miles away from DK and my mom used to work there. Unfortunately, they no longer carry drag pipes for shovelheads. In fact they only carry two sets of pipes that would fit, true dual headers and a supertrapp 2-1, each of which are way out of my price range, and just not what I want right now.
