Thanks guys! I tightened the intake clamps a few turns, and opened the idle screw a turn and it is a lot better. I think the electrical friction tape over the o-ring helped. I will have to re-learn how to do it over. But now I'm going to Jewett City for the annual bike night.

I found a .295 intermediate jet, but not sure if it's from an E or a B. Are they the same?

B's don't like the .0295 they tune out better with the .031, was an E carb you'd be right.

I guess with the 1 7/8" diameter it would need a little more fuel... Is the B a tapered venturi like the E or G?

I guess I thought the '79 utilized the Rubberband Manifolds???
If O-ring, I use 3M electrical tape [one wrap, not friction] Haven't had a leak in Years, but a mess when replaced...

Has more to do with no accel pump than venturing size , fatter jet helps overcome the lean spot the accelerator pump usually handles. Ran B's for years, still have several in box stashed.

I'm glad it was running badly with points because it made me check the valves and intake and fix them. Now with a new ignition module it runs great! Even better than before

Thanks for all of your help!
