John, your 1971 has this speedometer in it, right? The guy with 600 miles had a different speedometer which is why I thought he might be wrong about the original mileage. Again, the guy had a great bike that just needs a little tweak to be pretty damn perfect for a survivor. And John, while I have your attention, go back to the original post, picture of the right side of the bike. What is that vacuum canister looking thing in front of the rear pipe????

Plate is definitely for the right side rear passenger peg, just the peg itself is missing.

I will go along with it being for oil pressure.....................

As I was typing this, Bob did he have an oil pressure gauge in that Radio Caddy?? Maybe that is what the big sensor is for, an actual gauge not just the idiot light???

Still like the bike a lot.

There is no tellin what the oil pressure switch may have originally been made for,car or truck. The company was operating on a shoe string budget and the switch worked.

Yeah Bill, the plate under the sending unit is the passenger peg mount and there was an oil pressure gauge and volt gauge on the top of the small ferring...
