This beautiful 71 FLH came in to bike night last night.. A gorgeous looking machine. I was talking to the owner and he told me that his dad bought that bike brand new in 1971 and barely ever rode it. The odometer only has 318 miles on it. I got a kick out of the fact that it's got an 8-track stereo in it.. Remember those days. The only thing that he told me that wasn't original was he put new slip-ons on but he did store the old ones just in case... Anyways I thought some of you guys would enjoy the pics......

Thats beautiful.....not much on originality but that one I can appreciate...thanks for sharing
I saw the bike myself last night, it was awfully nice. I found a couple of things wrong with it, but real minor stuff that could be fixed in an afternoon. Overall, great original bike, I would fix the few things and get her AMCA judged as a survivor, probably would score very well. Also sounded real nice when he pulled into the lot.
That is a beautiful 71....I guess the dealer decided to install the AMF tank emblem on that one....why they would put it on the sticker and not on the left side of the Harley emblem, I don't know.
Bike has no kickstart but I believe that was an option.
Just curious, what were the things wrong with it?.

only way it has a AMF sticker from the dealer is it was a left over as the sticker on it did not come out till AMF paid for the Harley company sale in full in early 1972
it was not available before that maybe January February 72

IMHO the AMF sticker is fugly (no offense intended to those with it that came from factory)....why would the dealer would put it on a 71 if it didn't have to.
very nice...so the front fuel balance hose goes in front of the frame? my 82 flh has it behind the frame. yeah the 8 track is a bonus!! lucky owner !!.....1971 i was in shorts in the third grade at school ...LOL thanks for posting
It reminded me of the hundreds of tanks fenders frames and saddle bags and other bagger parts that are laying in the water next to where the old Dumbarton bridge was.
Lotta midnight runs in an old pickup tossin' that stuff over the side back in the day.....Good times!!
