FLH wiring problems

Thank you Joe for replying. My ignition is stock Harley that was offered on the 75th anniversary 1978 80c FLH. The manual says 5 Ohm. I never mentioned that the Coil on the bike was Chiped at the number one cylinder. So I replaced it Five years ago. But that an Idea. I will see if my Harley acts up after I get thus back on the road probably in the spring or early summer. Dealing with alot right now. But I enjoy this wrenching. AJ. But back to my original question that black wire off the ignition module my tag fell off where it goes. It has a large log does it go positive or negative. Black wire is usually negative. But really close to the exhaust system might be special wire. Long enough to go to my start relay or my battery.AJ

Well Thanks fir the post concerning my coil. Looks like that black wire will go to the relay start on the battery side. It continues on the the ignition switch. According to my wire diagrams. Originally I had 30 of those trailer wire blue clips on my Bike. And still have a few more. At the rear fender. I plan on correcting that. Also have a few lites that are not working. Possibly a ground issue.AJ

Hey guys I was looking at the 1200 wire guide my mistake. My ignition is.3 Amp not 5. Thst 1200 has points and that black wire now goes to ground its attached to that battery solinoid. Any way got my green grease and got my starter solinoid reinstalled. Next will be my oil tank and routing my electrical around them oil lines..found four more scotch blue wire blocks thats 34 of those.puppys on my bike. Personally I just don't care for them these were rusty so that may be another issue. When I get my EarthX battery installed I will look and see. If all my wiring issues are resolved. This was an old post, but right down my ally. AJ
