I have a 1984 FXEF. I ran a stock Kehin with an S&S Tear Drop Breather. I got between 50 and 55 MPG one up or two up. I was having sticking float issues and dumping fuel in buckets, so I bit the bullet and bought a new S&S Super E Shorty. I now get 48 to 49 MPG one up or two up. I drive mostly off of the highway; in other words not much cruising, lots of throttle play. It is jetted 70 Main and 295 Intermediate.

If you want MPG and stock look you should get a CV carb with a newer pigsnout air cleaner off a sportster. Looks exactly the same as stock FLH and fits the CV.
The $40 knockoff CV carbs from eBay seem to work very good. A 1200 plate for the ac might be a problem.

that would be nice to ride, seat stock ?
