With the derby cover off can you see the movement of the pushrod acting on the plate? Probable the 3 piece bearing needs replacing. You can look through the filler cap to check condition and observe operation.

Does the pushrod slide out the left side after removing the adjusting screw and nut? If so, you lost the little e-clip under the right side tranny cover. It holds your throw-out bearing, washers and oil slinger in place. Happened to mine last year.
