Default Belt alignment trouble 83 fx

Hello, I had a mechanic rebuild my tranny in my 83 shovel 4 speed. It's a primary and secondary belt drive. He mentioned, as he handed it to me, that he added a thicker spacer to the tranny so I could add a wider tire. I didn't ask for that but thats what he says he did. I put a 140 tire on and about 3/16" spacer extra on the wheel sprocket. It seems to clear the frame and primary and is centered as close as possible. When I line up my primary belt perfectly, the secondary drive belt is out about 1/8" to the inside of the bike and tranny sprocket. I can see now that it is together, I never really needed this "extra" thickness he put on.
Short of taking the whole thing apart, is there any other way this can be aligned properly? I don't think the front compenasating sprocket spacer can be thinned any more than it is.
Is this normal,to add spacing in the tranny or was this guy trying to cause me a load of grief?
Thanks in advance.

He added a spacer behind the tranny in order to align tranny sprocket and rear wheel sprocket due to wider tire (which causes the rear sprocket to be pushed out). With that in mind it would seem you need to shim the motor sprocket the same width as the tranny sprocket (assuming they were aligned before w/o one).

Not sure how others do it but here is how I align my motor sprocket to my tranny sprocket....
Motor sprocket in place, clutch shell in place but devoid of plates and such...just the shell. Use a straight edge (something like glass is perfectly straight and will not bend) that is long enough to cover the distance from the back side of the shell to the front of the motor sprocket. Lay the straight edge across the shell. Measure the distance frome the stright edge to the front and rear of the motor sprocket. Subtract the difference between them and this should give you the size of the shim you will need, Think places like J&P makes them in an assortment of thicknesses.

Thanks for the response.I was hoping i wouldn't have to take it apart again but it looks like I will. I believe I would need to deshim the engine sprocket to be able to slide the transmission to the right to align the rear belt. Since there is no such thing as deshimming,my only choice seems to be to replace that spacer inside the tranny sprocket with one that is 1/8 to 1/4" thinner. Any idea of the thickness for a factory spacer? It was and will be again an 83 Lowrider.

Is this tranny spacer directly behind the tranny drive gear? Anyone know the stock thickness?

What will it do if he runs ithe bike like it is anyway with the 1/8" difference in the 2 pulleys? Is it a belt buster? I've got a similar problem with my knuck.
