Default 1977 FLH

Hi!

Yesterday I've found a 1977 FLH at a spanish dealer.
The bike is pretty much original, engine and gear case rebuilt, frame and body work repainted.
The price is a bit high (14000€), but they became imposible to find, furthermore in almost mint condition. There are very, very few Shovels in Portugal.
Importation stopted during the 60's and came back in the mid 80's.
This particular bike came from Swisserland to Spain. Here it's being sold right now.
Already ask for pics and work done on it.

Until now, all I know is that the frame and body work were repainted, all wiring redone as the engine and tranny.
1500 kms since rebuilt.

What to you think of this model? It would be my first Shovel, only had Evos and Twinkees before.(later I'll post some pics, first I must upload them on Photobucket)

Much like my 1976 FLH.
I have original paint, fairing and hard bags.
Rides like a dream.
It will nead a little more TLC than an evo due to age and the top end will need to be rebuilt more often.
But IMHO, they sound better.

I changed the letters "I", "M", "G" to "i", "m", "g" so the pics would post. PocoCJ

Bags are of course are not stock, don't think color is.
cylinder heads look chromed, Harley never did.
Air filter not stock.

Looks pretty stock other than that.

On mine, the air filter is not stock, think everything else is.
Will see if my pic shows.

The bike has the gear case redone, the cilinder went to the machinist, the pistons and gasckets are new.
The chrome is new. Tires and battery new.
Paint job looks kindof 50's, not original...
The bags wain't original, but maybe I can trade them for fiber bags.
But a english friend of mine has a late Shovel that came from the factory with leather bags very similar to the ones this bike has on.
Electric wires and parts are new.

Personally, I love the 70's FLH's.
Great riding bikes.

Ya, the paint does look 50's 60's looking.
If I ever had to repaint mine from the original paint, I like the early-mid 30's art deco look.

I am not sure of what the conversion rate from Euros is currently, or how much one would pay in Europe.
I would imagin they would be higher there.

But here in the US it would probably go for around $9-10k give or take.
I paid $10500 for mine just a few months back.
I also have seen some for around $10k that were not in as good a condition.
It boils down to supply and demand. What is the availablity there verses demand.
Also how badly you want it.

They became pretty rare in southern Europe, even more in stock mode.
A few appear, but have have been chopped...

What oils should I use on this bike?
Temperatures in Lisbon go from 3º C in the Winter to 40º C in the Summer.
I'm at sea level.
