a good buddy of mine is a machinist and pretty good auto mechanic, so chances are he's either got one or we'll make one. I'll let you guys know how it goes but I won't get to it for a while as I'm going outta town for a few days. thanx for all the help.
mmm... I don't remember having to deal with that when I installed a kickstart kit on my '79 FLH... OR at least I am sure I never had the extractor nor I know anybody who had it at the time... :S
yes, I know to bend the tab back. I did read about a special harley puller but don't have it. is there a way to do it without it?
I've used a small cheap auto 2 jaw puller to pop those off before , they have some with flat arms for pulling alternator & power steering pulley's . Check the local O'reilly's or other auto parts places they rent them .
another question. I'm putting my kick starter back together and realize that I can't move the push rod by hand. I'm pretty sure I could push it in and out when I first took things apart. anyone know what's going on? I'm assuming that it should be able to move just by using my hands right? I loosened the started clutch nut to see if that did anything to free it up but did nothing. ????
