Default Question for True-Track owners

Just installed a True Track stabilizer and I'm not sure the stabilizer link is in the neutral position.
I am not able to turn the adjusting nut by hand, I have to use a open end wrench. I turned it one way till it felt tight then back in the opposite direction till it got tight (about 1 turn) then turned it back to the halfway point where it moved a little easier. My concern is that the directions lead me to believe that it should move freely by hand.
I'm hoping I am not putting any undo side to side stress on the trans etc.
Can I hear from those that have performed this install? Is all ok or do I have a problem?

I don't recall if the nut turn hard or easy, but it sounds like you've done it correctly; hitting the middle sweet spot.

When talking to the True-Trak crew at Sturgis about this very thing they said that you want to find that middle sweet spot to keep the setup in a neutral state. If you are trying to compensate for bad alignment you need to fix that first then install the True-Trak. If you have no alignment problems then you are doing it correctly. Just remember to do the install on a bike jack or platform and not on the jiffy stand.

Yes, you did the job correctly. I did mine the same way, works perfectly.

I installed it with the bike on the jiffy stand. I believe the directions stated that was ok.
Where did you hear that it should be sitting upright?
